Motion / Video Creative

Tell clear, human stories through purposeful moving images.

Why this role matters

Shape a brief into a purposeful sequence, whether a product demonstration, launch film or social edit. Story, pacing, audio and source rights belong in the same production process. Work to an agreed volume and revision scope, with organized files another person can use.

A typical working day

  • Confirm audience, message, formats and source material in a short treatment.
  • Edit, review pacing and captions, and collect specific feedback.
  • Check rights, export variants and prepare reproducible project handovers.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan and edit scoped reels, product demonstrations and launch films.
  • Maintain footage, music, model-release and brand-asset rights records.
  • Deliver accessible captions and platform-specific exports with consistent colour/audio.
  • Communicate progress and dependencies early; agree scope changes before taking on another workstream.

Ownership boundaries

Advanced 3D, game animation, location shoots and entire AI series are specialist projects with separate budgets.

What you bring

  • 2+ years of editing/storytelling evidence and competent audio, pacing, colour and export practices.
  • Proficiency in a suitable editor and motion workflow; Canva/InVideo may assist but do not replace quality.
  • Ability to explain source ownership and reproduce an export.

AI with judgment

Use generative tools responsibly, disclose synthetic material where needed and verify commercial usage rights.

Evidence and assessment

A short showreel plus two full examples with exact contribution, tools and source rights.

A paid short edit from supplied licensed media, with captions, rationale and export checklist. Agree payment and a time cap before starting. Use fictional data, no live credentials and no free production work.

How we work

Remote-first with an agreed collaboration window with the Nigeria-based team. Physical sessions require an agreed location, notice and travel arrangements; weekly office attendance is not assumed. Eligibility, engagement type and availability are confirmed individually.

The work you can shape

Practical problems, visible ownership and collaboration across product, design and operations. Together we agree a focused scope and the evidence that will show it is working.

First 30 days

  1. Days 1-5: organize one approved source set and agree treatment, rights checklist and formats.
  2. Days 6-15: present one small first cut with captions and focused review questions.
  3. Days 16-30: deliver the approved revision and variants with organized project files and rights records.
